Project Overview

Trojan Access Scaffolding is one of the UK's most respected scaffolding contractors, trusted by the country's top five residential housebuilders and operating on commercial sites nationwide since 2012. They also serve the domestic and small works market across the West Midlands, handling everything from chimney access to emergency scaffold hire for homeowners, builders, and tradespeople.

With two very different customer audiences — large-scale commercial clients and domestic homeowners — Trojan needed a website that could serve both without compromising the experience for either.

The Challenge

Trojan Access came to us with a clear sense of who they are as a business: modern, professional, no-nonsense, results-driven. They needed a website that reflected this character — bold and direct, not cluttered or corporate. But the real complexity lay in their dual-audience model.

A commercial developer looking for a scaffold partner on a 200-house residential development has very different needs, questions, and priorities compared to a homeowner who needs chimney access for a roof repair. Serving both audiences well, without confusing either, required a genuinely considered approach to site architecture and user experience.

The challenge was not just design — it was architecture. How do you give two very different audiences their own tailored experience within a single, cohesive brand?

How We Got There

01

Bespoke SvelteKit Build

We built the Trojan Access website on SvelteKit, delivering a fast, modern platform with excellent Core Web Vitals performance. The bespoke build gave us complete control over the dual-division architecture — something that would be difficult or impossible to achieve cleanly within a standard CMS framework. The result is a site that feels seamless to users while actually running two distinct sub-sites under one roof.

02

Dual-Division Architecture

The centrepiece of the project was the "which kind of customer are you" decision point on the homepage. From here, visitors self-select into one of two distinct journeys:

  • Commercial and Industrial — a dedicated section with its own navigation, branding tone, and service pages tailored to the needs of construction companies, developers, and facility managers. Services covered include industrial scaffolding, internal scaffolding, large-scale and multi-phase sites, maintenance and refurbishment, new build scaffolding for developers, retail and office projects, technical scaffolding, and temporary roofing.
  • Domestic and Small Works — a separate section with its own navigation and service pages aimed at homeowners, landlords, builders, and tradespeople. Services include chimney and gutter access, conservatory and extension scaffolding, emergency scaffolding, internal stair scaffolding, loft and roof scaffolding, short-term hire, temporary roof cover, and trade-ready packages for builders and roofers.

Each division has its own full service architecture, its own about page, its own contact section, and its own navigation — functioning as a self-contained experience while sharing the overarching Trojan brand identity.

03

Brand-Led Design

Trojan Access is not a company that sells softly. The design reflects this: bold typography, high-contrast visuals, and a confident, direct tone throughout. Every design decision was made with the Trojan brand character in mind — modern and assured, without the clutter or compromise that can creep into websites trying to speak to too many audiences at once.

The hero video on the homepage — shot and produced by Digital Sizzle — immediately establishes the scale and professionalism of Trojan's operations, making an instant impression on both commercial procurement managers and domestic customers.

04

Videography

Digital Sizzle produced the videography for the Trojan Access website, capturing the company's on-site operations to create a compelling hero video for the homepage. For a scaffolding contractor, showing the work in action is far more powerful than describing it — the video communicates scale, safety standards, and operational capability in seconds, building trust before a visitor has read a single word.

05

Accreditations and Trust

Trojan Access holds a strong portfolio of industry accreditations, and the site presents these prominently to build immediate credibility with commercial buyers and domestic customers alike. Accreditations include Construction Line, CHAS, SMAS, NASC membership, and approval as a Dudley Council supplier — all displayed clearly to reinforce Trojan's standing as a trusted, compliant contractor.

06

Legal Compliance

The Trojan Access website is fully legally compliant, featuring:

  • A comprehensive Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy in line with UK GDPR requirements.
  • Full company details published in the footer — registered company name, company number, VAT number, CIS Gross Status, and registered office address — meeting Companies Act disclosure requirements.
  • Cookie consent handling and data collection practices built to current UK regulatory standards.
